Bank Robber Sentenced to 46 Months in Oklahoma

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – Matthew Thomas Pettigrew, a 42-year-old resident of Ada, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to 46 months for his role in a brazen bank robbery.

On November 15, 2021, Pettigrew entered the Citizens Bank of Ada, a federally insured financial institution, and demanded money. The next day, law enforcement officers tracked him down to a casino, where he was arrested.

Following a guilty plea on March 9, 2022, Pettigrew was sentenced by the Honorable Charles B. Goodwin, United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Pettigrew was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal at the conclusion of his sentencing and will remain in custody pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility.

The investigation was led by the Ada Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with Assistant United States Attorney Cameron McEwen representing the United States.
