Randolph B. Martin, Felon Firearm Possession, LA 2024

GRIMY TIMES – In a stunning turn of events, Randolph B. Martin, 39, a resident of Metairie, Louisiana, has pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to Acting U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans.

Martin stands accused of violating the Federal Gun Control Act, stemming from an investigation by Special Agents of the United States Secret Service into allegations of access device fraud. During their inquiry, agents discovered Martin’s residence harbored a Hi Point Firearms Model CF380, .380 ACP Handgun in the defendant’s bedroom.

The revelation that Martin was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to a 1995 burglary conviction in Gwinnett County, Georgia, adds an additional layer of shock to this case. Martin now faces up to ten years in prison, a fine of $250,000, and three years of supervised release following his sentence.

U.S. District Judge Jane Triche Milazzo has scheduled the sentencing for July 20, 2017. Acting U.S. Attorney Evans has commended the efforts of the United States Secret Service and the New Orleans Police Department in their thorough investigation.

Assistant United States Attorney Loan A. “Mimi” Nguyen is leading the prosecution against Martin, ensuring justice is served on this grave violation of federal firearms law.
