Scott Winterberg Jr., Meth Conspiracy, Texas 2024

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas

– A meth dealer is facing a lengthy prison sentence after a high-stakes investigation by local and federal authorities.

Scott Winterberg Jr., 26, was ordered to serve a 300-month sentence for his role in a meth conspiracy charge, while his accomplice, Brianna Sanchez, 23, received a 102-month sentence for her involvement.

According to court documents, Winterberg and Sanchez were involved in a conspiracy to possess and distribute meth between September and December 2019. The duo utilized social media to market and sell narcotics, making multiple sales to undercover law enforcement.

But the meth dealers’ activities didn’t go unnoticed for long. On December 17, 2019, Winterberg led law enforcement on a high-speed chase after they attempted to initiate a traffic stop of his vehicle. The chase lasted over 20 minutes, with speeds exceeding 120 mph.

During the arrest, authorities discovered Winterberg was in possession of a handgun, ammunition, and cocaine. It was a major break in the case, and authorities were able to build a stronger case against the duo.

Sanchez admitted to trafficking meth and acknowledged the duo sold over 20 ounces each month from August through November 2019. Both defendants have been and will remain in custody pending transfer to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility to be determined in the near future.

The investigation was a collaborative effort between the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Corpus Christi Police Department, and the Texas Department of Public Safety. Assistant U.S. Attorney David M. Paxton is prosecuting the case.
