A federal grand jury has brought down a 24-year-old Venezuelan national residing in Perrysburg, Ohio, for his alleged involvement in a string of federal crimes.
Anthony Emmanuel Labrador-Sierra, a 24-year-old man, has been slapped with a four-count indictment that includes charges of possession of a firearm by an alien unlawfully in the United States, making a false statement during the purchase of a firearm, and making or using false writings or documents.
The indictment alleges that Labrador-Sierra submitted false information to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on federal applications for Temporary Protective Status and Employment Authorization Documents in 2024 and 2025. He allegedly listed a false date of birth in order to obtain these documents.
Labrador-Sierra’s troubles began in May 2025, when Perrysburg Schools reported to the Perrysburg Police Department that he was enrolled at Perrysburg High School under false pretenses.
Further investigation revealed that Labrador-Sierra was in possession of a Taurus G3C 9mm, semiautomatic pistol, which he did not have lawful status to purchase or own in the United States. He allegedly submitted false information on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) Form 4473 to purchase the firearm.
The false statements Labrador-Sierra submitted included claims that he was a United States citizen or national, that he was not illegally or unlawfully in the United States, and that he was not an alien who had entered the United States under a nonimmigrant visa.
Labrador-Sierra faces up to 15 years in prison for possession of a firearm by an alien, 10 years in prison for making a false statement during the purchase of a firearm, and up to five years in prison for making or using false writings or documents.
The case is being investigated by the City of Perrysburg Police Department, United States Border Patrol−Sandusky Bay Station, the FBI Toledo Field Office, and the ATF, with assistance from the Wood County Prosecutor’s Office.
This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with knowledge and information about this matter is encouraged to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or visit fbi.gov/tips.
An indictment is merely an allegation. The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
