TULSA, Okla. – A brazen daylight robbery of a Tulsa marijuana dispensary has landed two men in federal prison. Ronald Buckley, Jr., 39, was sentenced today to 150 months’ imprisonment followed by five years of supervised release for Robbery in Indian Country and Carrying, Using, and Brandishing a Firearm During a Crime of Violence. His accomplice, Terrance Vohn Morrow, 41, received 21 months’ imprisonment and three years of supervised release for Accessory After the Fact to Obstructing, Delaying, and Affecting Commerce by Robbery. Both will serve their time in the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
The crime unfolded in May 2024, when Tulsa Police responded to a call at the dispensary. Witnesses told officers that a suspect – later identified as Buckley – stormed the business, brandishing a handgun and demanding cash and cannabis products. Surveillance footage confirmed the account, showing Buckley making off with stolen goods in a waiting vehicle. The investigation quickly revealed a chilling detail: Buckley had discharged the firearm during the robbery.
But Buckley didn’t act alone. Law enforcement soon connected him to Morrow, who was observed picking him up after the heist. In a desperate attempt to evade justice, Morrow moved his vehicle to a heavily wooded area, clearly trying to conceal evidence. The move, however, wasn’t enough to throw investigators off the scent. It was a pathetic attempt to cover for his buddy after the fact.
Court records paint a disturbing picture of a repeat offender. Buckley was already under the supervision of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections for a previous robbery conviction at the time of this latest crime. Adding insult to injury, Buckley is a citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, highlighting the cross-jurisdictional complexities of these cases. He clearly has no respect for the law or the safety of others.
The investigation was a collaborative effort, spearheaded by the FBI, Tulsa Police Department, and the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Stephen Flynn and Kenneth Elmore secured the convictions and ultimately, these sentences. This case is a prime example of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) in action – a program designed to bring together all levels of law enforcement to combat violent crime and gun violence.
