OKLAHOMA CITY – In a hard-hitting federal sentencing, Adrian Gomez-Osorio, 40, of Mexico, has been locked away for over five years in federal prison. The Mexican national was slammed with a 64-month sentence for illegal reentry into the United States after a prior removal.
Gomez-Osorio’s journey back to American soil was fraught with criminal activity. Public records reveal that on October 17, 2024, he was found within U.S. borders, having been removed to Mexico in July 2020. His illegal stay was cut short when he was arrested and charged in Oklahoma County District Court with acquiring proceeds from drug activity, aggravated trafficking, and trafficking of fentanyl, all charges he later faced in case number CF-2024-5079.
Operation Take Back America struck again on November 19, 2024, when a federal Grand Jury indicted Gomez-Osorio for his illegal reentry. The plea was entered on February 14, 2025, with Gomez-Osorio admitting to knowingly returning without proper consent.
The sentencing hearing on July 23, 2025, saw U.S. Chief District Judge Timothy D. DeGiusti deliver the stiff sentence. Judge DeGiusti emphasized the importance of enforcing the law and safeguarding the public from further crimes by Gomez-Osorio.
This case was a product of an intensive investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Tiffany Edgmon leading the prosecution. Gomez-Osorio’s sentence is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration, eliminating cartels, and protecting communities from violent crime.
