Meth Kingpin Sentenced to 10 Years
A Brooke County man has been handed a 10-year prison sentence for his role in a methamphetamine distribution ring, the Grimy Times has learned.
Charles A. Marker, 40, of Wellsburg, West Virginia, was sentenced to 120 months in prison today for distribution of methamphetamine, announced United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II.
Marker’s troubles began when he previously pled guilty in February 2016 to one count of ‘Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute and to Distribute Methamphetamine.’
Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen L. Vogrin prosecuted the case on behalf of the government, with the Hancock, Brooke, Weirton Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, leading the investigation.
U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey presided over the case, delivering the harsh sentence to Marker.
The harsh punishment is a testament to the efforts of the task force and the dedication of prosecutors in bringing methamphetamine traffickers to justice.
Marker’s sentence serves as a warning to those involved in the methamphetamine trade that they will be held accountable for their actions.
