DENVER, CO – Michael Thomas Delguidice, 62, of Westminster, Colorado, will spend the next decade-plus behind bars after receiving a 124-month federal prison sentence for trafficking methamphetamine and possessing firearms in connection to the drug trade. The sentencing, handed down on February 7, 2023, by Judge William J. Martinez, closes a case rooted in domestic terror and brazen gun violence.
The trouble began December 5, 2020, when Westminster police responded to a domestic disturbance call. The victim reported her vehicle had been shot the previous night. Things escalated quickly when she received threatening texts from Delguidice, urging her to meet him in Blackhawk. When she refused, he allegedly texted, “Ready for round two then?” – a chilling indication of his intent. She further reported Delguidice was actively circling her block on a motorcycle, stalking her.
Upon contacting Delguidice, officers found a disturbing arsenal and evidence of his criminal activity. A search of his person revealed 93 grams of methamphetamine, packaged in baggies for distribution, a loaded .38 caliber revolver, two speed re-loaders, and a staggering $3,405 in cash stuffed in his jacket. The search didn’t stop there. Inside his motorcycle bag, police discovered a stolen 10mm Glock semi-automatic handgun and matching ammunition.
Ballistics evidence directly linked Delguidice to the drive-by shooting. Shell casings recovered from the scene matched the stolen 10mm Glock found in his possession. This wasn’t just drug dealing; it was a calculated act of intimidation and violence, designed to control and terrorize. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado clearly presented a case demonstrating a clear pattern of dangerous behavior.
The investigation was a joint effort by the FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force and the Westminster Police Department, with Assistant United States Attorney Brian Dunn leading the prosecution. This case falls under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a federal program dedicated to reducing violent crime and gun violence through collaborative law enforcement and community engagement. The Department of Justice launched a strengthened PSN strategy in May 2021, emphasizing community trust, violence prevention, and focused enforcement.
Delguidice’s sentence includes 3 years of supervised release following his 124-month prison term.
