Fifteen Years for Christopher Ray Hicks
Davenport, IA – Christopher Ray Hicks, a 39-year-old East Moline man, has been sentenced to 180 months in federal prison for his involvement in a methamphetamine distribution ring in the Quad Cities.
According to court documents, Hicks was identified as a methamphetamine distributor in October 2019 following several controlled buys and a search warrant executed at his residence. During the search, law enforcement found methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, marijuana, and evidence indicative of drug trafficking.
Hicks was arrested in November 2019 in Davenport, where officers discovered a large, plastic-wrapped candle stuffed with a pound of methamphetamine in his vehicle. In a post-Miranda statement, Hicks admitted conspiring with Luis Hernandez-Barajas and others to distribute methamphetamine.
Hicks pleaded guilty to the offense on October 31, 2020. As part of his sentence, he must serve five years of supervised release following his prison term and pay $100 to the Crime Victims’ Fund.
The case was investigated by the Quad City Metropolitan Enforcement Group, with Acting United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal making the announcement.
