Mariana Tyler Wallace, Meth Trafficking, Washington 2024

A Washington woman who helped fuel the methamphetamine addiction of Crow and Northern Cheyenne tribal members has been sentenced to three years in prison, federal authorities announced Tuesday.

Mariana Tyler Wallace, 23, of Okanogan, Washington, pleaded guilty in December 2023 to possession with intent to distribute controlled substances in connection with a multi-state meth trafficking ring centered on the Crow Indian Reservation in Montana.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Wallace worked as a translator for a co-conspirator to sell methamphetamine to multiple individuals who visited a property known as the Bloodman residence, which is located near the Spear Siding property on the Crow Indian Reservation.

The investigation, which involved federal, local, and tribal law enforcement, revealed that Wallace and her co-conspirator were involved in selling methamphetamine and fentanyl from the Bloodman residence, with Wallace translating for customers who spoke Spanish.

Wallace was considered a lower- to mid-level player in the conspiracy, but her role helped facilitate the trafficking of methamphetamine to Crow and Northern Cheyenne tribal members.

U.S. District Judge Susan P. Watters presided over the case, which was prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office and investigated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Drug Enforcement Administration, and FBI as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and making neighborhoods safer.

Wallace will serve three years in prison followed by five years of supervised release, a sentence that was meted out for her role in the multi-state meth trafficking ring.
