Methamphetamine Trafficking Ring Dismantled in Wyoming
Natasha Martin, 37, of Cody, Wyoming, has been sentenced to 37 months in prison for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine. Martin was sentenced on October 12, 2021, and will be followed by three years of supervised release. She was also ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment and a $300.00 community restitution.
The case was investigated by the Postal Inspector with the United States Postal Service and the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation. The sentencing was carried out by Federal District Court Judge Nancy D. Freudenthal.
In a separate case, Christopher Ryan Gross, 34, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, was sentenced to 37 months in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Gross was sentenced on September 30, 2021, and will be followed by 37 months of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay a $100.00 special assessment. The investigation was led by the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office, and the sentencing was carried out by Judge Freudenthal.
Two men, Edras Pantoja-Villafranca, 22, of San Francisco, California, and Luis Ramon Medina-Saucedo, 23, of Aurora, Colorado, were sentenced for their involvement in a fentanyl and cocaine trafficking ring. Pantoja-Villafranca was sentenced to 70 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay $200.00 in community restitution and a $100.00 special assessment. Medina-Saucedo received the same sentence. The investigation was carried out by the Uinta County Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the sentencing was carried out by Chief Federal District Court Judge Scott W. Skavdahl.
The arrests were made in Evanston, Wyoming, and the sentencing was carried out on February 12, 2021. The case involved the possession of fentanyl, cocaine, and aiding and abetting. Pantoja-Villafranca and Medina-Saucedo were arrested together, and it is believed that they were part of a larger trafficking operation.
The sentencing of these individuals is a significant blow to the methamphetamine and fentanyl trafficking rings operating in Wyoming.
