Santiago Gracida-Santos, Unlawful Re-Entry, Washington 2024

Yakima and Tri-Cities, Washington – In a fierce crackdown on illegal immigration, eight defendants with extensive criminal histories were indicted for unlawfully reentering the United States after deportation. These individuals, who had previously been removed from the country, now face federal charges under 8 U.S.C. § 1326.

Santiago Gracida-Santos, a 29-year-old Mexican national with a rap sheet including illegal re-entry and DUI, is among those charged. Gracida-Santos has twice been removed to Mexico, only to return to the U.S. to be arrested again for arson in June 2025.

Jose Luis Cruz-Agustin, aged 38, another Mexican national, boasts a lengthy criminal history including rape and assault. The third-degree offender was deported twice before facing new charges in Washington State and has been convicted of unlawful re-entry in Arizona.

Marco Alvarez-Acevedo, 35, has prior convictions for methamphetamine possession and money laundering. Removed to Mexico in 2022, he was found in Washington this year, only to be charged with more crimes.

Pedro Soberanis, known by multiple aliases, is a 49-year-old Mexican national with multiple deportations under his belt. His charges include theft, burglary, and illegal re-entry. Currently facing state charges, Soberanis awaits federal proceedings.

Jose Bautista-Sanchez, 29, has faced numerous charges including trespassing and domestic violence assault. Now charged again in state court, he too is a repeat offender with a history of illegal immigration.

Jovenal Faustino-Pineda, 30, adds to the list with convictions for assault and burglary. He faces new charges in state court while awaiting federal proceedings.
