MIAMI – A harrowing case of child exploitation has culminated in a Miami man’s sentence to over eight years in federal prison for distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Andre Alexander Pino, 45, pleaded guilty earlier this year and now faces 97 months behind bars.
Pino’s despicable actions began in May 2023 when he used a mobile messaging app to entice what he believed to be a mother with a three-year-old son. During their exchanges, Pino manipulated the woman, coercing her with explicit instructions on how to harm her child.
The sinister turn came in January 2024, when Pino shared graphic videos of child sexual abuse in a chatroom within the same app. His sickening behavior was brought to an end on February 26 when Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) executed a search warrant at Pino’s residence.
Agents recovered a mobile phone filled with CSAM, leading to Pino’s conviction. As part of his sentence, he has agreed to pay $5,000 in restitution to one of the victims depicted in the material.
The U.S. Attorney Jason A. Reding Quiñones for the Southern District of Florida and acting Special Agent in Charge Jose R. Figueroa of HSI Miami led the charge against Pino. This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a Justice Department initiative targeting internet-based child exploitation.
