Jovon “Playa Pat” Booker, a 32-year-old resident of Pensacola, Florida, has been hit with a federal indictment for an alleged multi-faceted crime spree that includes massive drug trafficking and money laundering operations.
Booker stands accused of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense, conspiracy to commit money laundering, money laundering through high-end jewelry purchases, and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. The charges were announced by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.
The arraignment for Booker is set for August 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., before United States Magistrate Judge Hope Thai Cannon at the U.S. Courthouse in Pensacola. If convicted on all counts, he could face life imprisonment.
This operation has been a collaborative effort between several law enforcement agencies including the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigation, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, and the Pensacola Police Department. Assistant United States Attorneys David L. Goldberg and Jessica S. Etherton are handling the prosecution.
While an indictment is merely an allegation, not evidence of guilt, it underscores a significant investigation that falls under Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at dismantling criminal organizations and protecting communities.
