Michael Ray Enzor, a 34-year-old Jacksonville man and registered sex offender, was sentenced to 19 years and 6 months in federal prison for transporting and aiding in the distribution of child pornography. U.S. District Judge Marcia Morales Howard handed down the sentence, which includes 15 years of supervised release, mandatory sex offender registration, and restitution to a victim. Enzor pleaded guilty on October 4, 2016, in the Middle District of Florida.
The case exposes a disturbing repeat pattern of predatory behavior. In 2007, Enzor was convicted in Duval County on charges of attempted capital sexual battery of a child under 12. That offense resulted in a decade-long state prison term, with his release coming in June 2014. Barely four months later, while still under conditional release, federal authorities began tracking his online activity involving child exploitation.
Investigators found Enzor actively sharing child pornography through a Canadian-based social networking chat platform. But his crimes went beyond passive sharing—he actively solicited young girls, and even mothers and daughters, to connect with him online for the purpose of receiving what he described as “extreme” videos. His digital footprint painted the picture of a predator exploiting trust and familial bonds for illicit gain.
On March 24, 2015, agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations executed a search warrant at a Jacksonville residence Enzor shared with other convicted sex offenders. A forensic sweep of his electronic devices uncovered more than 100 video files containing child pornography—graphic evidence that sealed his fate in federal court.
The investigation was a joint effort between U.S. Homeland Security Investigations and the York Regional Police in Ontario, Canada, highlighting the transnational reach of modern child exploitation networks. Assistant United States Attorney Kelly S. Karase prosecuted the case, underscoring the federal government’s commitment to holding repeat offenders accountable with maximum penalties.
This conviction is part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative launched in 2006 to combat the rising tide of child sexual exploitation. Through coordinated federal, state, and local efforts, the program targets those who abuse and distribute material involving minors. For more information, visit www.justice.gov/psc.
