Methamphetamine Distribution Lands El Reno Woman Behind Bars for 112 Months
Muskogee, OKLAHOMA – In a move aimed at combating the rising tide of illicit substances in Oklahoma, a local woman has been sentenced to a substantial prison term following her involvement in a methamphetamine distribution ring.
Michelle Lea Davis, a 39-year-old resident of El Reno, has been ordered to serve 112 months in prison for her role in the possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance. This sentence was handed down by the Honorable Judge Ronald A. White, District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee.
According to court documents, on or about April 30, 2016, Davis knowingly and intentionally possessed with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine (actual). This charge arose from a multi-agency investigation led by the McAlester Police Department, the District 18 Task Force, the Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Assistant United States Attorney Kristin Harrington represented the United States in this case. The defendant will remain in custody pending transportation to the designated federal facility at which she will serve her nonparoleable sentence.
As the Eastern District of Oklahoma continues to work towards ridding its communities of illicit substances, this sentence serves as a stark reminder of the consequences associated with involvement in such activities.
The investigation and subsequent prosecution of Davis are a testament to the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies in Oklahoma and the unwavering commitment to upholding the law.
