Oxford, MS – The grim streets of Mississippi witnessed a significant blow to the drug trade yesterday as ten local men were逮捕 for their alleged roles in a fentanyl and methamphetamine conspiracy. According to court documents, Terrance Rush, Gary Wraggs, Tilnorris Macon, Tonnee Holmes, Tyler Tanksley, Darnell Stone, Harvey Savior, Marcus Metts, and Austin Snow face charges of possession with intent to distribute the deadly drugs. One of these suspects, Quinton McWilliams, 41, of Louisville, MS, is currently on the run and wanted by the FBI.
The operation, a part of the FBI’s Summer Heat initiative, also resulted in three individuals being charged for violating federal firearm laws. The indictment reveals that several suspects have prior convictions for serious drug or violent offenses. Sentencing will be determined by a federal district court judge after considering U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
U.S. Attorney Clay Joyner of the Northern District of Mississippi announced the takedown, which was supported by the U.S. Marshals Service, Winston County Sheriff’s Office, and Louisville Police Department. The FBI is leading the investigation with key partnerships from the Starkville Police Department, ATF, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Samuel Stringfellow and Julie Addison are handling the prosecution. The case falls under the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF), which is dedicated to dismantling top-level criminal organizations. An indictment is merely an allegation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
