ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis County man has been found guilty of a heinous crime: the murder-for-hire of a New Jersey man in 2022. Moreion Lindsey, 35, was convicted on one count each of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and murder-for-hire.
Evidence presented during the trial showed that Lindsey fatally shot Titus Armstead on April 21, 2022, in Penrose Park in St. Louis. Lindsey was hired for the murder by Jerome Williams, who was acting on behalf of a New Jersey man, Ray Bradley. Bradley, a cocaine and marijuana trafficker, had hired Lindsey to kill Armstead after accusing him of stealing from Bradley’s stash house. Lindsey was paid $15,000 for the hit.
Lindsey’s trial began on Monday and lasted several days. The jury delivered a guilty verdict on Thursday, finding Lindsey responsible for Armstead’s murder. The evidence against Lindsey was overwhelming, including testimony from multiple witnesses and physical evidence from the crime scene.
The case against Lindsey is just one part of a larger investigation into the activities of Ray Bradley and his associates. Bradley, 46, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and murder-for-hire in June and was sentenced to 25 years in prison in September. Jerome Williams, 52, pleaded guilty to destruction of evidence to obstruct a federal investigation in December.
The investigation into Bradley’s operation was a collaborative effort between the FBI, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, and the Atlanta Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Angie Danis, Ryan Finlen, and Nathan Chapman are prosecuting the case.
Lindsey is scheduled to be sentenced on April 24. The crimes carry a mandatory life sentence in prison. Lindsey’s lawyers will likely argue for a reduced sentence, but given the severity of the crime, a life sentence is likely.
The case highlights the dangers of gang activity and the risks of getting caught up in a world of violence and crime. It also underscores the importance of law enforcement working together to bring perpetrators to justice.
