Brice Aron Horton, Ice Methamphetamine Distribution, Iowa 2025

Brice Aron Horton, a 49-year-old resident of Mount Vernon, Iowa, has been sentenced to more than twelve years in federal prison for his role in the distribution of ice methamphetamine and possession of a firearm as a convicted felon. The sentence was handed down on August 8, 2025, by United States District Court Chief Judge C.J. Williams.

Horton faced charges after being stopped by the Mt. Vernon-Lisbon Police Department on May 26, 2024, where officers discovered 814.9 grams of ice methamphetamine and a loaded pistol. At the time of the stop, Horton was already a convicted felon, making firearm possession illegal.

According to court documents, Horton admitted to distributing at least 13 pounds of ice methamphetamine in the Northern District of Iowa between May 2023 and May 2024. Additionally, he confessed to distributing 100 pills containing fentanyl during that same period.

The heavy sentence of 147 months’ imprisonment, along with a five-year term of supervised release following his prison term, was handed down by Judge Williams. There is no possibility of parole in the federal system.

Prosecution of the case was led by Special Assistant United States Attorney Jared Manternach, with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Mt. Vernon-Lisbon Police Department conducting the investigation.
