Mughith Faisal, Wire Fraud, Arizona 2026

PHOENIX, Ariz. – In a stunning case of corporate betrayal, three Phoenix area men were recently sentenced for their roles in a sophisticated fraud scheme against Amazon, netting them a whopping $4.5 million.

Mughith Faisal, 29, of Glendale, Arizona, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge John Tuchi on Feb. 5, 2026, to 18 months in prison, while his brother, Basheer Faisal, 28, of Glendale, Arizona, received a similar sentence, also 18 months in prison, from U.S. District Judge Diane Humetewa on Feb. 17, 2026. A third defendant, Abdullah Alwan, 28, of Surprise, Arizona, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Susan Brnovich on March 2, 2026, to a relatively light 6 months in prison.

According to court documents, Alwan, a former Amazon employee, used his knowledge of the company’s proprietary system to increase standard rates for transportation deliveries assigned to Amazon’s third-party carrier companies. The increased rates were then knowingly received by Blue Line Transport, an Arizona-based transportation company operated by the Faisal brothers.

The scheme, which lasted for years, defrauded Amazon out of approximately $4.5 million. During the investigation, Amazon cooperated fully with the FBI, providing crucial evidence that helped bring the defendants to justice.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Aron Ketchel and Adriana Genco, District of Arizona, Phoenix, handled the prosecution, which was led by the FBI Phoenix Division.

The sentencing is a significant victory for the victims, Amazon, and the community at large. It serves as a reminder that corporate malfeasance will not be tolerated and that perpetrators will be brought to justice.

As part of their sentencing, all three defendants were ordered to pay $1.5 million in restitution to Amazon.
