KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Operation LeGend has struck again, with 59 additional arrests announced by U.S. Attorney Tim Garrison, bringing the total to 156 since the operation began.
Among the new faces behind bars are seven more murder suspects, including Chase M. Murphy, who was apprehended on charges of armed robbery conspiracy and brandishing firearms during a crime of violence.
The past week’s arrests also include Terrell L. Releford, Dustin M. Jordan, Zackory Phillips, and Dylan Pruett, all charged with various firearms-related offenses. Travis J. Pipes faces federal charges for heroin trafficking and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug-trafficking crimes.
Operation LeGend’s focus on violent crime has yielded significant results, with 12 homicide arrests to date. The operation also targets drug trafficking, illegal firearms possession, and other serious offenses.
In addition to the arrests, law enforcement has seized 17 firearms, stolen vehicles, multiple drugs including cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, and marijuana, as well as $52,000 in currency.
U.S. Attorney Tim Garrison met with local pastors to discuss community concerns and the impact of Operation LeGend on Kansas City’s crime rate.
