BUFFALO, N.Y. – A former youth pastor has been sentenced to serve 84 months in prison for his role in a child pornography case, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office.
Nathan L. Rogers, 40, of East Aurora, NY, was convicted of attempted receipt of child pornography and sentenced by Senior U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul E. Bonanno, who handled the case, Rogers set up iPhones in his camper to surreptitiously record nude images of a minor victim at Darien Lake Park in Genesee County, NY, in July 2019.
The minor victim, who was a minor at the time of the incident, noticed the phones recording her and attempted to delete the videos before reporting the incident to authorities.
Responding law enforcement officers detained and questioned Rogers, and subsequently, nude images of the minor victim were located on the phones.
The sentencing is the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Miraglia, and the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, under the direction of Sheriff William A. Sheron, Jr.
