A 32-year-old Florida man traveled to upstate New York with a twisted intention: to meet a 13-year-old girl for sex. Michael Fegley Jr. was caught with over 1,000 child porn images and videos on his devices.
On April 27, 2026, Fegley pleaded guilty to transporting child pornography and traveling with intent to engage in unlawful sexual activity. Chief Judge Brenda K. Sannes handed down a 108-month prison sentence, the maximum possible under the plea deal.
The federal judge also ordered Fegley to pay $25,000 in restitution and register as a sex offender upon his release.
Fegley’s crimes were uncovered by Homeland Security Investigations, working with federal prosecutors in Albany. ‘Those who cross state lines to target and exploit children will face the full force of justice,’ vowed Erin Keegan, Special Agent in Charge of HSI Buffalo.
First Assistant US Attorney John A. Sarcone III echoed the sentiment, ‘The sentence will help protect the public from further crimes by this dangerous offender.’
