New Haven’s Antrum Coston, 34, has pleaded guilty to a litany of serious charges, including possession of a firearm by a felon and intent to distribute cocaine and cocaine base, also known as crack.
Coston’s transgressions came to light on January 11, 2016, when police stopped his vehicle in New Haven. The encounter resulted in the discovery of a loaded Jimenez Arms 9 millimeter pistol, 13 baggies of cocaine, and a quantity of crack cocaine, all of which had been reported stolen.
Coston’s criminal history is extensive, with multiple felony convictions to his name. His most recent federal conviction was for possession of a firearm by a felon in 2004, leading to a 37-month sentence. In June 2007, he added another 18 months to his record for violating the conditions of supervised release.
U.S. District Judge Stefan R. Underhill set Coston’s sentencing for August 10, 2017, where he could face up to 30 years in prison.
The investigation into Coston’s crimes was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the New Haven Police Department, with the prosecution handled by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jennifer R. Laraia and Michael E. Runowicz.
