⏱ 2 min read

A 30-year-old Marrero man is facing up to 15 years behind bars after being caught with a Glock pistol in January, despite being a convicted felon. Olin D. Grant Jr. was indicted on April 16, 2026, for violating federal law by possessing the firearm.

According to the indictment, Grant was found in possession of the 9mm Glock Model 19X pistol on January 14, 2026, in the Eastern District of Louisiana. As a convicted felon, he is prohibited from owning firearms.

Grant is also facing a fine of up to $250,000, three years of supervised release, and a mandatory special assessment fee of $100. The case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating violent crime and protecting communities.

The indictment is a charge, not a conviction, and Grant’s guilt must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Brittany Reed.
