Forced Labor Conspiracy Lands OneTaste Founder Behind Bars
Nicole Daedone, the 57-year-old founder and former CEO of OneTaste, Inc., a San Francisco-based sexual wellness education company, has been sentenced to nine years in prison for her role in a forced labor conspiracy.
Daedone, who was convicted by a federal jury in June 2025, was sentenced by United States District Judge Diane Gujarati in federal court in Brooklyn. The sentencing comes after a five-week trial, in which Daedone and Rachel Cherwitz, OneTaste’s former Head of Sales, were found guilty of forced labor conspiracy.
Rachel Cherwitz, a 45-year-old from an unknown location, was also sentenced to 78 months in prison for her role in the scheme. The Court also imposed a $12 million forfeiture money judgment against Daedone, and awarded $887,877.64 in restitution to seven victims of Daedone and Cherwitz.
OneTaste, founded in San Francisco, California, was a company that promised its customers a path to spiritual enlightenment and personal growth through its workshops and classes. However, behind the scenes, the company was allegedly operating a forced labor conspiracy, where employees were subjected to physical and emotional abuse, and were forced to work long hours without pay.
The sentencing of Daedone and Cherwitz marks a significant victory for the victims of OneTaste’s forced labor conspiracy. The case highlights the dangers of human trafficking and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable for their crimes.
The case against Daedone and Cherwitz was brought by the United States Department of Justice, with the assistance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The investigation and prosecution of the case were led by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.
