Jasveen Sangha, Ketamine Distribution, California 2023

LOS ANGELES – In a stunning revelation from the Justice Department, Jasveen Sangha, 42, alias ‘Ketamine Queen,’ of North Hollywood has agreed to plead guilty to five federal criminal charges, including providing the ketamine that led to the tragic overdose death of actor Matthew Perry in October 2023.

Sangha’s involvement with the drug world is undeniable. She has been a key figure in the distribution network that supplied ketamine, culminating in Perry’s fatal dose. The Justice Department announced today that Sangha will face a maximum sentence of up to 20 years on the drug-involved premises count alone.

According to her plea agreement, Sangha collaborated with Erik Fleming, 55, of Hawthorne, to distribute ketamine to Perry. Perry, an accomplished actor and author, had his struggles with drug addiction widely documented. In October 2023, Sangha and Fleming sold Perry 51 vials of ketamine, which were then provided to Kenneth Iwamasa, 60, Perry’s personal assistant.

The night of the tragedy, Iwamasa administered at least three shots of the ketamine supplied by Sangha to Perry. The overdose led to Perry’s death on October 28, 2023. Following Perry’s death, Sangha attempted to distance herself from the situation by deleting messages and instructing Fleming to do the same.

In addition to her role in Perry’s death, Sangha has also been charged with selling four vials of ketamine to victim Cody McLaury in August 2019, who died hours later. Law enforcement discovered a significant stash of drugs during a search of Sangha’s North Hollywood residence in March 2024, including methamphetamine, MDMA tablets, and counterfeit Xanax pills.

Sangha is not alone in this sordid affair. Mark Chavez, 55, a physician from San Diego, has pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine. Erik Fleming’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for November 12, where he faces up to 25 years in federal prison on charges including conspiracy to distribute ketamine and distribution of ketamine resulting in death.

This case serves as a chilling reminder of the deadly consequences of drug trafficking and the need for stringent law enforcement efforts to combat such crimes.
