Northern Cambria Woman Jailed for Heroin Conspiracy

A 29-year-old Northern Cambria woman has been sentenced to a year and one day in prison for her role in a heroin conspiracy.

According to court documents, Casey Lex, 29, conspired with others to distribute and possess over 100 grams of heroin between April 2012 and March 8, 2013.

United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson handed down the sentence after prosecutors presented evidence of Lex’s involvement in the heroin conspiracy.

Assistant United States Attorney John J. Valkovci, Jr. led the prosecution on behalf of the government.

U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton commended the Laurel Highlands Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Cambria County Drug Task Force for their investigation and work in bringing Lex to justice.

‘The people of Western Pennsylvania expect and deserve a safe and just community,’ Hickton said in a statement.

Lex will serve a four-year period of supervised release following her one-year and one-day prison sentence.

The sentence marks the culmination of a lengthy investigation into Lex’s involvement in the heroin conspiracy.
