⏱ 2 min read

Nicolas Brown, a 30-year-old New York man, exploited teenage girls in Connecticut, using Uber to pick them up from a state-run group home and bring them to hotels and malls for sex. The crimes occurred in March 2024, and Brown was arrested on state charges on March 20, 2024. He pleaded guilty to federal charges in December 2024 and was sentenced to 15 years in prison. Brown’s victims were as young as under 18 years old.

Brown’s crimes were uncovered when he was arrested at a hotel in Danbury, and his iPhone was seized, revealing videos of child sex abuse, including some that he had taken himself with a minor victim. The investigation involved the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the West Hartford Police Department, and the Danbury Police Department, with assistance from the Connecticut Department of Children and Families.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher J. Lembo, and U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan thanked the State’s Attorney’s Office for the Judicial District of Danbury for its cooperation. Brown has been detained since his arrest and will now serve 15 years in federal prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release.

This prosecution is part of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation. Brown’s sentence reflects the severity of his crimes and the need to protect vulnerable children from predators like him.
