Sean Sayer, a 23-year-old from Naugatuck, Connecticut, pleaded guilty to child exploitation offenses after engaging in a disturbing online relationship with an 8-year-old boy from Oregon. Between March 20, 2025, and March 23, 2025, Sayer exchanged over 1,300 messages with the boy, demanding sexually explicit images and videos in exchange for playing Fortnite online. The boy sent Sayer at least 15 videos constituting child sexual abuse material.
Sayer’s arrest on June 18, 2025, led to a forensic review of his cellphone, revealing screenshots of Snapchat conversations with numerous additional minor victims who were coerced or enticed into sending him sexually explicit photos. To date, investigators have identified approximately 89 separate minor victims. Electronic devices seized from Sayer contained over 5,000 videos and 1,000 images of child sexual abuse material, including images and videos depicting sexual violence against prepubescent minors.
Sayer pleaded guilty to two counts of production of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. He faces a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 15 years and a maximum term of 30 years on each count of production of child pornography, and up to 20 years for possession of child pornography. Sayer was released on bond but has been detained since February 17, 2026, after his bond was revoked.
The investigation was conducted by the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force, which includes federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. Sayer’s guilty plea marks a significant step towards justice for the numerous victims of his heinous crimes.
