Sexual Predator Convicted of Victimizing Two Children in Georgia
Savannah, GA – A jury convicted Cedrick Demon Robinson, a 42-year-old man previously stationed at Fort Stewart, Georgia, of Aggravated Sexual Abuse of a Child and Attempted Production of a Visual Depiction of a Minor Engaging in Sexually Explicit Conduct.
The convictions stem from incidents that occurred in December 2013 and 2017. In December 2013, Robinson sexually abused a minor by fondling the child’s genitals when the child was only nine years old. Later, in 2017, Robinson requested that another child text him a sexually explicit photograph when the child was 15 years old.
Cedrick Demon Robinson, a resident of Oxford, MS, awaits sentencing after a presentence investigation is completed by U.S. Probation Services.
“Protecting children from those who would abuse them and seeking justice for sexual predators remains one of our District’s highest priorities,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Tara M. Lyons. “We will continue to seek justice for those who would victimize our most vulnerable citizens.”
The case was investigated by the Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division’s Fort Stewart Office and prosecuted for the United States by the Southern District of Georgia Assistant United States Attorneys Michael Z. Spitulnik and Darron J. Hubbard.
“Mr. Robinson’s conviction is a testament to the diligent work of our special agents and prosecutorial partners at the United States Attorney’s Office,” said Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division, Southeast Field Office, Special Agent in Charge Steven Ausfeldt. “Army CID will aggressively pursue anyone who would abuse or exploit our children.”
