Sex Crime in Georgia: Michael Alexander James Arrested for Possession of Child Pornography
May 12, 2025 – In a shocking turn of events, Michael Alexander James, 44, of Waynesboro, GA, was arrested in Operation Restore Justice, a nationwide crackdown on child sex predators. James, a resident of Waynesboro, was charged with one count of Possession of Child Pornography.
The operation resulted in the rescue of 115 children and the arrests of 205 child sexual abuse offenders in the nationwide crackdown. The coordinated effort was executed over the course of five days by all 55 FBI field offices, the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section in the Criminal Division, and United States Attorney’s Offices around the country.
James, who is currently facing federal charges, was part of a larger effort to combat child sex abuse. The Justice Department is committed to combating child sexual exploitation, and Operation Restore Justice is just one example of their unwavering commitment.
“Possessing child pornography perpetuates the victimization of child sexual abuse survivors,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Tara M. Lyons. “As exemplified in Operation Restore Justice, we will continue to collaborate with our law enforcement partners to protect our most vulnerable citizens.”
James’ case highlights the importance of parental vigilance and community outreach efforts in preventing child sex abuse. The Justice Department is committed to raising awareness about the dangers children face and seeking justice for victims.
In related news, Martin Lindner, 52, of Augusta, GA, was also arrested in the Southern District of Georgia as part of Operation Restore Justice. Lindner, who is also facing federal charges, was charged with one count of Possession of Child Pornography.
The Justice Department is committed to combating child sexual exploitation and will continue to work with law enforcement partners to protect children from predators like James and Lindner.
