Gerald Coley, aka G Rock, a 56-year-old from Bridgeport, Connecticut, was a key player in a southwestern Connecticut drug ring that peddled large quantities of fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and crack cocaine. Led by Rodney Canada, the ring operated in Stamford and other areas, with Coley managing cash and supplying Canada with drugs from New York City. The investigation, which included wiretaps and controlled purchases, revealed the scope of the operation and led to the arrest of Coley, Canada, and other members on May 14, 2024.
On that day, authorities conducted searches at locations in Stamford, Norwalk, Bridgeport, and Darien, seizing approximately three kilograms of cocaine, nearly 400 grams of raw fentanyl, and more than 500 bags of fentanyl, as well as firearms, a bulletproof vest, and seven vehicles. A search of Coley’s residence turned up 20 grams of crack cocaine, over 700 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Coley pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute on December 17, 2025. He was sentenced to 37 months in prison and four years of supervised release by U.S. District Judge Michael P. Shea in Hartford.
The investigation was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force and the Stamford Police Department, with assistance from other agencies. The case highlights the ongoing struggle against fentanyl and other opioid trafficking in Connecticut and the efforts of law enforcement to disrupt and dismantle these operations.
