James Pagliaro, a 27-year-old man from Middletown, New York, was sentenced to 50 years in federal prison for sexually exploiting minor girls across the country, including a 15-year-old in Connecticut. Between April 2024 and March 2025, Pagliaro used social media apps like Snapchat and TikTok to contact thousands of young girls, sending them explicit messages and photos of himself. He coerced at least four girls into producing hundreds of explicit images and videos, and even traveled to Connecticut to engage in sex acts with one of his victims.

Pagliaro’s tactics were manipulative and terrifying. He would initially profess his love to his victims, promising to marry them when they turned 18. But he would later threaten them with violence, sending photos of guns, ammo, and knives. He forced his victims to create humiliating and degrading videos as punishment for perceived failures, and even threatened to harm their families.

A forensic evaluation of Pagliaro’s phone revealed a staggering amount of communication with his victims, including tens of thousands of text messages and hundreds of phone and video calls. The investigation led to his arrest and conviction, and on May 8, 2026, he was sentenced to 600 months in prison and a lifetime of supervised release.
