A hail of gunfire erupted in a crowded Oakland nightclub, claiming two lives and leaving five others wounded on March 7, 2026. Now, Jarvis Toussaint, 40, of Mountain House, CA, is facing federal charges for his alleged role in the bloodbath.
Toussaint, a convicted felon, is accused of pulling the trigger in a shootout that sent patrons running for their lives. Two people were killed, including an Oakland woman who was gunned down as she tried to escape the gunfire.
Despite fleeing the scene, Toussaint was identified through a combination of surveillance video, license plate reader technology, and DNA analysis. Investigators found spent shell casings at the scene, but the semiautomatic pistol used in the shooting remains missing.
Toussaint is currently in federal custody, facing a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted of possessing ammunition as a felon. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 19, 2026.
