Oglala Man Sentenced for First Degree Burglary
Tim Two Bulls, a 24-year-old man from Oglala, South Dakota, was sentenced to 18 months of imprisonment for his role in a daring first degree burglary in the Red Shirt Table community.
According to court documents, Two Bulls broke into the home of a woman on December 16, 2011, in an unlawful and violent act that left the victim shaken.
Two Bulls, who was 22 at the time of the crime, was arrested and charged with First Degree Burglary. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Justice Services, and the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety.
On October 24, 2013, Two Bulls pled guilty to the charge, admitting to the violent crime. He was subsequently sentenced by Chief Judge Jeffrey L. Viken, U.S. District Court, on December 4, 2013.
As part of his sentence, Two Bulls was ordered to pay $100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund, a move aimed at providing justice and compensation to the victim of the crime.
Two Bulls was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service, where he will serve his 18-month sentence. The case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of community safety and the need for swift justice in violent crimes such as burglary.
