Ohio Man Charged with Methamphetamine Distribution
A 41-year-old Ohio man has been indicted on drug charges in West Virginia, according to authorities.
Robert L. Bruce, also known as “Miami,” has been accused of distributing methamphetamine in Marshall County in July and August 2021.
The indictment, handed down this week, charges Bruce with one count of “Distribution of Methamphetamine” and one count of “Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine.”
Under federal law, Bruce faces up to 20 years of incarceration and a fine of up to $1,000,000 for each count. The actual sentence will be determined by federal sentencing guidelines and any prior criminal history he may have.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn M. Adkins. The investigation was led by the Marshall County Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative.
It’s worth noting that an indictment is merely an accusation, and Bruce is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
The charges against Bruce come as authorities continue to crack down on methamphetamine trafficking in the region.
