Andrew Raymond Crum, a 33-year-old Ohio man, began exploiting a 14-year-old Missouri girl he met on an online gaming platform in 2021. He drove to Missouri to have sex with her in February 2024, when she was 16, and exchanged explicit images and videos via Snapchat. The FBI was alerted in October 2024 and stopped Crum from continuing his abuse.
Crum used the alias ‘Sassy Man’ on Snapchat to hide his identity, but an anonymous tip to the FBI led to his downfall. The FBI and local law enforcement worked together to locate and contact the victim and her mother, putting an end to Crum’s exploitation.
Crum pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in St. Louis in April to one count of coercion or enticement of a minor. He was sentenced to 160 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Matthew T. Schelp. The case was part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
The FBI’s investigation and prosecution of Crum’s case demonstrate the agency’s commitment to protecting children from online predators. Special Agent in Charge Chris Crocker of the FBI St. Louis Division emphasized that tips from the public are crucial in identifying and stopping offenders like Crum.
