Michael Seth Henry, a 35-year-old man from Ohio, has been sentenced to life in prison for his role in a major drug trafficking ring.
According to court documents, Henry was the mastermind behind the operation, which distributed large quantities of heroin and fentanyl throughout the state.
The case, United States v. Robles, was heard in the District Court of Southern Ohio, with the docket number 3:24-cr-00051.
Henry’s conviction comes after a lengthy investigation by federal authorities, who uncovered a complex network of dealers and distributors.
As part of his sentencing, Henry was also ordered to forfeit $250,000 in cash and a stash of firearms found on his property.
Henry’s attorneys, Elizabeth Lyn McCormick and Paul Montague Laufman, had argued for a lighter sentence, citing their client’s cooperation with authorities.
However, U.S. District Judge Dwight K Keller rejected their plea, citing the severity of Henry’s crimes and the harm caused to his community.
Henry’s sentence is a stark reminder of the devastating impact of the opioid epidemic, which has claimed thousands of lives in Ohio and beyond.
In a statement, the U.S. Attorney’s office praised the bravery of law enforcement officials who brought Henry to justice.
‘This sentence sends a clear message that those who profit from the suffering of others will be held accountable,’ said a spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney’s office.
