Jordan Dodd, Child Pornography Possession, Ohio 2024

CLEVELAND and AKRON, Ohio – In a sweeping crackdown on child sexual exploitation, Jordan Dodd, 24, of Jefferson, Ohio, has been sentenced to 600 months (50 years) in prison for his role in child pornography. The U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO) announced the enforcement actions for Title 18 violations involving exploitation and abuse of children, which are separate from each other.

Dodd pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography and conspiracy to produce child pornography, a charge that came into light when he was found to have conspired with an adult female to take sexually explicit photographs of an infant under her care. The photographs were sent to Dodd while he was incarcerated on an unrelated matter. Additionally, court documents revealed that Dodd had possessed digital devices containing child sexual abuse materials (CSAM), including images involving a prepubescent minor under the age of 12.

U.S. District Court Judge Bridget Meehan Brennan imposed the sentence July 24, marking the end of a case that has shocked the community and highlighted the serious nature of online child exploitation.

In a separate investigation, Michael Monroe James, 28, of Clinton, Ohio, was sentenced to 151 months (more than 12 years) in prison for receipt and distribution of visual depictions of real minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. He also faced charges of possession of child pornography and was ordered to serve 15 years of supervised release after his imprisonment. James’ sentence was imposed July 21, following his guilty plea in March.

Court documents show that James was communicating with an undercover agent posing as a pregnant 11-year-old girl on the Whisper social media app. His electronic devices were found to contain more than 700 files of CSAM involving infants or sadistic content. The investigation into James was also conducted by the FBI Cleveland Division.

These cases are part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. For those who wish to report suspected child sexual abuse, cybertipline.org is available 24/7, or call 1-800-843-5678.
