A federal jury has convicted a 41-year-old Oklahoma City man of leading a heroin trafficking organization that supplied the McAlester area.
Michael Moses George was found guilty of conspiracy to distribute more than a kilogram of heroin in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The jury delivered the guilty verdict on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, following a trial that began on Monday, July 26, 2021.
The investigation revealed that George conspired with nine other individuals to distribute heroin in the Eastern District of Oklahoma between July 2019 and December 2020.
According to the United States Attorney’s Office, George purchased heroin from co-conspirators and served as a major source of heroin for a co-conspirator in McAlester, who sold to various people in the area.
DEA agents executed a search warrant of George’s Oklahoma City apartment and found nearly a pound of heroin, $20,000 in bundled cash, and four firearms.
The other nine defendants originally indicted in the case have entered guilty pleas.
George faces a minimum of 10 years and up to life in prison.
