MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – A relentless cyber-stalker has met his fate in the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Garrick DaVaughn McCrary, a 30-year-old resident of Okmulgee, was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for one count of Stalking.
The sentence came after an investigation that spanned from April 2023 until January 16, 2025, when McCrary pleaded guilty. He had been using the internet and social media apps to send graphic messages designed to terrify and harm his victim, according to federal investigators.
Muscogee (Creek) Nation Lighthorse Tribal Police Department and the FBI led the investigation that culminated in this conviction. On May 9, 2025, McCrary admitted his guilt before a court.
The Honorable Ronald A. White presided over the sentencing hearing, ensuring justice was served. McCrary will now serve his non-paroleable sentence under the watchful eye of the U.S. Marshals Service, as he is transferred to a federal prison facility.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jacob R. Parker represented the United States in this case, ensuring that the legal system meted out justice for the victim who suffered through McCrary’s online harassment campaign.
This sentence sends a clear message that cyber-stalking will not be tolerated and that those who engage in such behavior face severe consequences under federal law.
