LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – In a major crackdown on healthcare fraud, eight individuals have been arrested in connection with a $50 million California hospice fraud scheme.
According to a press release from Google Fraud News, the arrests were made as part of ‘Operation Never Say Die,’ a multi-agency investigation into the alleged fraud.
The defendants, whose names were not immediately released, are charged with various counts of healthcare fraud, money laundering, and conspiracy.
The investigation, led by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California, involved the cooperation of multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
