Crime Wave Hits Bayou City: Honduran National Indicted for Re-Entry of Deported Alien
NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA – A disturbing trend of re-entry of deported aliens has claimed another victim in the city’s crime-ridden streets. Osman Jose Urbina-Centeno, 33, a native of Honduras, has been indicted for re-entry of a deported alien, a serious federal offense.
According to court documents, Urbina-Centeno was found in the Eastern District of Louisiana on May 12, 2025, after being previously removed to Honduras on September 8, 2010. This egregious breach of national security has left authorities scrambling to contain the situation.
Urbina-Centeno, an illegal alien, now faces a maximum penalty of two years of imprisonment, up to a $250,000 fine, up to three years of supervised release, and a $100 mandatory special assessment fee. The seriousness of the charges cannot be overstated, as this crime poses a significant threat to public safety and national security.
Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson reiterated that an indictment is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Simpson emphasized the importance of holding accountable those who would seek to undermine our nation’s immigration laws.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of law enforcement to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.
Acting U.S. Attorney Simpson praised the work of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection in investigating this matter. Assistant United States Attorney Spiro G. Latsis of the General Crimes Unit oversees the prosecution.
