WORCESTER, MA – Michael Lamountain, 41, of Oxford, Massachusetts, is facing a barrage of federal charges for allegedly exploiting and trafficking minors, according to a grand jury indictment unsealed today. The case paints a disturbing picture of calculated abuse and the production of horrific child pornography.
Lamountain has been indicted on one count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, one count of sex trafficking of a minor, and four counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. He’s currently held in state custody on separate, but related, charges and is scheduled to appear in federal court in Worcester on April 30, 2024. This isn’t the first time Lamountain has faced accusations; he was initially charged by criminal complaint with one count of sexual exploitation of a minor on February 16, 2024.
Charging documents detail allegations that on July 19, 2023, Lamountain sex trafficked a minor victim, forcing them to participate in sexually explicit acts intended for the creation of child pornography. The indictment further alleges he coerced three other minor victims into similar acts for the same depraved purpose. This isn’t a single incident; it’s a pattern of predatory behavior.
Prior to the federal indictment, Lamountain was arrested in August 2023 and subsequently charged by Worcester Superior Court with a litany of state offenses including rape of a child, aggravated indecent assault and battery on a child, depicting minors in sexual conduct, human trafficking of a minor, possession of child pornography, distribution of child pornography, and intimidation of a witness. Local and federal authorities are working in tandem to ensure he faces the full weight of the law.
The stakes are high. A conviction on the charge of sexual exploitation of a minor carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years, with a potential maximum of 30 years in prison, lifetime supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. The announcement of the indictment came from Acting United States Attorney Joshua S. Levy, FBI Special Agent in Charge Jodi Cohen, Worcester Police Chief Paul B. Saucier, and Oxford Police Chief Michael K. Daniels. Support was also provided by the Rhode Island and Massachusetts State Police. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kristen M. Noto is leading the prosecution. This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative dedicated to combating child sexual exploitation and abuse, launched in 2006.
