A federal court in Springfield, Mo., heard the guilty plea of Carissa L. Bedford, 46, for her role in selling counterfeit Louis Vuitton bracelets online.
Bedford, the owner of JOVEE, LLC, a wholesale business that operated out of her residence in Ozark, Mo., admitted to selling various counterfeit Louis Vuitton bracelets, hair ties, and other products through her business from April to December 2022.
The investigation, led by Homeland Security Investigations, revealed that Bedford sourced the counterfeit goods from Hong Kong and China. Multiple shipments were delivered to Bedford and another individual between May 4 and November 14, 2022.
According to court documents, Bedford specifically ordered 200 Louis Vuitton-branded, counterfeit bracelets from Hong Kong in April 2022. She also admitted to selling three Louis Vuitton-branded, counterfeit hair ties to an undercover agent on May 26, 2022.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Casey Clark is prosecuting the case. Bedford’s guilty plea marks a significant blow to the counterfeiting operation. As the investigation unfolds, it remains to be seen how far-reaching the impact will be.
Bedford’s actions are a stark reminder of the dangers of counterfeit goods and the importance of supporting legitimate businesses. The public is encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
In a statement, Assistant U.S. Attorney Casey Clark said, ‘The sale of counterfeit goods not only hurts legitimate businesses but also poses a significant risk to consumers. We will continue to work tirelessly to bring individuals responsible for these crimes to justice.’
