A Perrysburg man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for his involvement in child pornography crimes, a shocking revelation that has left the community reeling.
Andrew B. Palm, 34, was found guilty last year of one count each of receipt of child pornography and production of child pornography, a heinous crime that has sparked widespread outrage.
The defendant’s Sandalwood Road home is also subject to forfeiture, a consequence of his crimes.
According to officials, the case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Alissa M. Sterling and Guillermo J. Rojas following an investigation by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations and the Perrysburg Police Department.
Steven M. Dettelbach, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, praised the collaborative effort that led to Palm’s sentencing, stating that the punishment reflects the severity of the crimes committed.
The 25-year sentence is a stark reminder of the consequences of child pornography crimes, and serves as a warning to those who would engage in similar behavior.
