GRAVES COUNTY, SD – A 40-year-old Parmalee man was charged with a federal crime after allegedly engaging in a sexual act with a woman who was unable to give permission.
Patrick Left Hand Bull, 40, was indicted on July 23, 2013, for Abusive Sexual Contact, an offense punishable by up to 3 years’ imprisonment and/or a $250,000 fine.
The alleged incident occurred in South Dakota, and the investigation is being conducted by the U.S. Marshals Service.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah Collins is prosecuting the case, and U.S. Magistrate Judge Veronica L. Duffy presided over Left Hand Bull’s July 31, 2013, court appearance.
Left Hand Bull pleaded not guilty to the indictment, and a trial date has not been set.
Left Hand Bull was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending further proceedings.
The charge is merely an accusation, and Left Hand Bull is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office reminds the public that the case is ongoing, and further information will be released as it becomes available.
