Patrick John Irvine, Child Sex Abuse, Georgia 2024

Crime: In March 2024, Patrick John Irvine, 22, of Shiloh, Georgia, met a 12-year-old girl on Snapchat and continued to communicate with her through multiple platforms.

The Harris County, Georgia, resident made plans to travel to meet the girl in Alabama, and they eventually met on March 23, 2024. Irvine texted the girl to ‘start packing’ for a future meeting. Irvine returned to the girl’s residence on March 29, 2024, and drove her to Georgia, where she was reported missing the next day.

A mother acquired her daughter’s cell phone records and discovered a high frequency of calls between the victim and Irvine’s phone number. Irvine initially denied any involvement, but eventually admitted to knowing the girl’s age.

Criminal Charges: Transportation with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity

City and State: Shiloh, Georgia

Exact Date: October 15, 2024 (plea), January 28, 2025 (sentencing)

Sentence or Outcome: 120 months in prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release

Defendant will have to register as a sex offender upon release from prison.

U.S. District Judge Clay Land presided over the case.
