Paul Casto, 56, Sentenced to 108 Months for Methamphetamine Distribution in Harrison County

A Harrison County man has been sentenced to 108 months in prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution operation, announced U.S. Attorney Bill Powell.

Paul Casto, of Clarksburg, West Virginia, entered a guilty plea in May 2019 to one count of "Distribution of Methamphetamine".

The crime was committed in June 2018, when Casto admitted to selling methamphetamine in Harrison County.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda E. Wesley prosecuted the case on behalf of the government, with the assistance of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Greater Harrison Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative.

The investigation was also funded in part by the federal Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force Program (OCDETF), which provides critical federal funding and coordination to successfully identify, investigate, and prosecute major interstate and international drug trafficking organizations.

U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh presided over the case. Casto’s 108-month sentence is a stark reminder of the severity of methamphetamine-related crimes in West Virginia and the efforts of law enforcement to combat them.
